Venue Policy

Mustang Soccer Zero-Tolerance Policy.

Mustang Soccer’s Zero Tolerance for Abuse / Spectator Conduct Policy applies at all Showcase events. It is designed to stop sideline behavior that interferes with the match — especially comments or actions toward referees.

Core Expectations
  • — No harassing referees and no insulting, offensive, or abusive language.
  • — Coaches, parents, and players may disagree, but dissent by word or action is not permitted.
  • — Coaches are responsible for their sideline (parents and spectators).
Where Everyone Stands
  • — Teams and benches are on opposite sides (home team chooses).
  • — Spectators are on the same side as their team, on their half of the field near midfield, at least 3 yards back from the touchline.
  • — No spectators behind the goal lines or nets.
L1
Level 1 Abuse — Warning, then ejection

Reactive comments loud enough for refs to hear and that negatively impact them. Examples: “That’s a foul!” “Handball!” “Offside!”

First instance is a warning — the coach must address spectators. If it continues, the spectator can be removed.

L2
Level 2 Abuse — Immediate ejection

Words or actions implying the referee is biased for or against a player, coach, or team. This results in immediate ejection.

During a Violation
  • — The referee stops the game. The coach has one minute to identify the offending spectator and ensure they leave.
  • — If the spectator can’t be identified, the referee may require all spectators of that team to leave.
  • — Referees use an ask / tell / dismiss approach, but can caution or send off immediately depending on severity.
  • — Refusal to comply can lead to review by Mustang’s Honor the Game Committee.
Commitment

A high-level, developmental experience.

Every participant plays a role in creating an environment that is:

  • — Competitive
  • — Respectful
  • — Positive
  • — Development-focused

If your program meets the bar, apply.
